The 15-year-old victim of a Monday shooting in Dartmouth is not cooperating with police.
Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said yesterday they have tried to get information from the teenage victim, but to no avail.
At 4 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a young man being kicked out of a grey vehicle by the driver on Lakecrest Road near the intersection of Major Road. The driver then reportedly fired at least one gun shot at the victim, but missed. The teen was later taken to Dartmouth General Hospital with a leg injury.
Through their investigation, police now believe the victim jumped out of the car, and wasn’t pushed out. They also believe the two are known to each other.
“It’s not based on (the victim’s information),” Palmeter said. “I don’t think we can prove anything at this point.”
Police also don’t know if this incident was linked to a string of other recent shootings in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
