A man who was arrested trying to break into a house dressed as a ninja is being held in police custody until a psychiatric assessment can be completed, Vancouver police said yesterday.

The man was wielding a samurai sword and tried to get inside a family house on the Westside of Vancouver.

Police said the homeowner managed to bar the ninja’s entry and shut the front door. The ninja then tried to get into the house from the back.

Police were called to the house and the man was arrested for weapons offences.
