About 800 banners were unveiled at Vancouver City Hall yesterday, created by internationally recognized Vancouver artist Bratsa Bonifacho.

The banners, which will ripple along Burrard and Georgia streets, including the two bridges, have been honouring Vancouver’s finest artists for half a century.

This year’s banners will mark the anniversary of Vancouver’s Summer Annual City Banner Program that dates back to 1958.

Bonifacho said that his work essentially expresses non-verbal thoughts and emotions abstractly through the use of colour and shape.
