Even post-secondary facilities use terms like Twittering and Twittersphere and today Bow Valley College is hosting a Twitter Career Exploration Day.

Bow Valley College spokesperson Angela MacIsaac said the school is hosting a career seminar over Twitter, the newest social network site to take the Internet by storm.

“It’s a fun and interactive way to share information and education with a social network all over the world,” she said.

MacIsaac will be taking Twitter questions today and ask a panel of experts including alumni, faculty and employers in the city, and then relay the information back to Twitter. People who ask questions will be entered into a draw to win an iPod and Starbucks vouchers, she added.

Web designer Connor Turner, 29, thinks the idea of a seminar through Twitter is a great way to socially engage people.

“I think it’s very cool and when done right, Twitter can be a very useful interactive tool for presentations. It gives the audience something to do,” he said.

Interested Tweeters can check out Bow Valley College on Twitter between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
