If you haven’t popped into the library lately, you should.

“The Calgary Public Library adds a new item to its collections every 71 seconds,” said April Ganger from Central Library.

Translation: With 2.6 million items, not including e-books and audio books, the city’s 17 branches have “everything you’re into.”

Borrow books, movies, and CDs, use your branch’s free Wi-Fi, or don’t even leave your office.

“Our databases are super cool. Check out Newspapers Direct, your online access to hundreds of newspapers in real-time, or ‘Tell Me More,’ a language-learning database,” said Ganger.
