Co-owner of Cowork YYC, Jeff Gibson and client Tabitha Beaton say working in an office space rather than at home, in a library, or out of a coffee shop helped them become more productive in their businesses.

While Cowork YYC has all the amenities of an office, it’s definitely not your average corporate space, according to one client.

Tabitha Beaton runs a one-man emergency services consulting business, but her desk mates work in entirely different fields.

“I think for me, my business was expanding and I needed to find a space that was quieter because I have two small kids and home and that was no longer an option,” said Beaton.

She is one of 17 small business owners and freelancers that rent a space at Cowork YYC and Beaton said the creative environment has helped her business flourish.

“I think it contributed a lot to my business last year,” she said.

Co-owner of Cowork YYC Jeff Gibson said he and his business partners started the company because they were looking for a non-corporate environment outside the house.

“It was kind of really personally generated and we figured there were a lot of other people out there like Tabitha and like our other clients that needed an affordable space to come.”
