Suck
Rating: ***

Writer/director Rob Stefaniuk’s breezy contemporary rock and roll- drenched horror comedy riffs heavily on The Vampire Lestat, Anne Rice’s second instalment in her popular book series, telling the tale of a struggling rock band that suddenly finds superstardom when their lead singer becomes a bloodsucking ghoul.

Likeable but lightweight, the film is buoyed by amusing turns from real-deal rock stars such as Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins, Rush’s Alex Lifeson, Moby and Iggy Pop.

Nothing special, but lots of fun.
