I am writing about the so-called transparent government and its services.

I admit I voted Blue and think perhaps I made an error. Did you know there have been more than 20 requests to the privacy commissioner to access information under control of the Maintenance Enforcement Program? All have been declined because of the “confidential nature of their files.” Who do they think they are, the CIA?

The recent Children’s Advocate controversy shows Premier Ed Stelmach and his ministers do not exercise due diligence in monitoring the activities of their portfolios, in this instance the Minister of Justice. But does the Alberta government have an Access Enforcement Program to assure the visitation rights of an estranged parent? No.

There is no such thing and no enforcement by police or any authority! I see that money is much more important to the province than the relationship within families.

The Tories set up a multimillion-dollar per year collection agency, but sit around and scratch their heads about family violence, youth criminality, and other social issues associated with marginalizing estranged parents.
