Ed Graczyk’s Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
Where: Walterdale Playhouse on
When: Friday, Oct.16.
Directed by Wendi Pope, the play centres around the twentieth reunion of the “Disciples of James Dean” in a small town five-and-dime store.

Country music trio Kan/Welch/Kaplin
Where: St. Basil's Cultural Centre
When: Friday, Oct.16.
Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch and multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplan have enjoyed musical successes as far back as the 1980s and early-1990s.

CHiMPROV
Where: Varscona Theatre
When: Every Saturday at 11 p.m.
CHiMPROV, or improvisational theatre presented by Rapid Fire Theatre is home to one of the top troupes in Canadian theatre.  Every week they make it up as they go, with poignant or hilarious results.

Buddy Wasisname & the Other Fellers
Where: Festival Place, Sherwood Park
When: Saturday and Sunday
What started out as a bit of fun and foolishness has turned into a career for Kevin, Chaulkie, Buddy and Byron. Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers will be celebrating 25 years of humour and homespun ballads on latest tour.

Slipknot and Deftones
Where: Shaw Conference Centre
When: Sunday, Oct. 18.
The former is a nine-piece alternative/new metal band from Iowa, known for their masks, identity numbers, strange and often frightening image while Deftones is a California-sprung rock band rooted in heavy metal who’ve diversified over their 10-year career.

Fall Woman’s Show
Where: Northlands Agricom
When: Saturday and Sunday
The Show makes for a great girls’ day out. It’s a weekend of shopping, sampling, learning, laughing and bonding with gifts, accessories, entertainment, food, information and special guest speakers.
