Immerse yourself in Renaissance-era Italy for some art — the art of killing, that is. Montreal-based Ubisoft’s latest title revolves around an Italian nobleman-turned-assassin seeking revenge for the death of his father and brothers. Plenty of violence and thrills follow, but one of the biggest attractions of the game are characters based on historical figures such as Leonardo da Vinci and Lorenzo di Medici.

This week, Amazon.com announced that the popular e-book reader - which is lighter than the average paperback, less than a centimetre thick and has a 15-centimetre screen - is now available in Canada, about six weeks after it launched internationally in more than 100 other countries. However, the $300-plus price tag may keep it off of many Christmas wish lists.

The trouble with Judd Apatow’s first box-office dud is that it’s not very funny. That doesn’t mean it’s not good. Critics and moviegoers were probably turned off by the dearth of mirth but the Knocked Up director trades easy laughs for emotional depth in this two-and-a-half-hour dramedy.

New moms, note this. This Fisher-Price toy has just been named the top battery-operated toy for 2010 by the Canadian Toy Testing Council. Aimed at babies aged six to 18 months, this multi-coloured plaything feature a whole smorgasbord of peek-and-pop action blocks and more than 16 songs and goofy sounds.
Jon and Kate Plus 8 series finale
The end is nigh. Come Monday, TLC will pull the plug on the show about the once-happy family that slowly imploded before our eyes. Reports say that the final episode will feature in-depth, but separate interviews from Jon and Kate Gosselin.
