TORONTO - An array of costumes, armour and weapons from the HBO smash "Game of Thrones" is set to invade Toronto.
The touring collection "Game of Thrones: The Exhibition" makes its only Canadian stop in March, one year after a similar sold-out exhibit in Toronto drew more than 25,000 fans.
This year's effort, commissioned and curated by HBO, is a touring, interactive experience that will also visit New York City, Sao Paulo, Amsterdam and Belfast.
"Game of Thrones" is based on George R. R. Martin's bestselling books about warring families in a magical and ruthless world where summers and winters last for years.
HBO says the exhibit will focus on key characters and showcase more than 70 original artifacts from seasons 1 and 2, plus select pieces from season 3, which starts March 31 on HBO Canada.
Game of Thrones: The Exhibition runs March 9 to 16 at Toronto's Design Exchange.
HBO Canada says it will include helmets, shields and full suits of armour, as well as Joffrey's crossbow, daggers and swords such as "Ice" and "Longclaw."
Fans can also have their photo taken on a replica of the iron throne from the series.
Free tickets will be made available to the general public beginning Thursday at 9 a.m. ET at themovienetwork.ca/Exhibition.
Subscribers to The Movie Network can get free tickets now through 8:59 a.m. ET on Thursday.
