The popular former talk show host of AM920-CJCH will now be heading to News 95.7 to take over as an afternoon news anchor, editor and reporter.
“I’m anxious to get back to work. I love radio, I love being involved in the news. I’m getting antsy. It’s been nice having the summer off so far but I’m getting antsy to get back,” said Howe.
Though he was chiefly known as a talk show host, Howe is also used to the anchor/reporter role.
“It’s what I did prior to the talk show, and even during the talk show I’d fill in on vacations and the summer months,” said Howe.
Howe ran his daily call-in show, the Hotline, ran for 10 years on oldies station CJCH. But in late May it was cancelled when station owner CTV decided to switch to the FM dial and radically reprogram content for the new station.
Howe was also a columnist for the Daily News before it shut down in February.
“I hope one day I could do a talk show again,” he said. “But, you know, we’ll see.”
