MacMillan injured; Chisholm waived

by: Matthew Wuest October 27, 2008 2:39 PM comments: (0)

The Halifax Mooseheads could be without Logan MacMillan for nearly a month after the 19-year-old forward suffered a knee injury in practice on Saturday.

MacMillan, Halifax's top player and a first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks, has four goals and four assists in nine games and will be out "two to four weeks," according to the team.

The injury is a huge blow to the Mooseheads, who have the worst offence in the QMJHL. MacMillan was skating on the top line with Tomas Knotek and Travis Randell.

In other news, the Mooseheads waived 19-year-old defenceman R.D. Chisholm on Monday, which likely paves the way for 19-year-old forward Matt Boland to join the team once recovered from a shoulder injury.

Maybe now is the time for Cam to consider going up stairs full time and bring in a new coaching staff for next year. It obviously hasn't worked for the last three years, so maybe a change is required.
