Former Mooseheads forward Yuri Cheremetiev is scheduled to join the junior A Truro Bearcats.
As news trickled in Thursday night that Yuri Cheremetiev had been cut by the Bathurst Titan, the Halifax Mooseheads lost a draft pick in the process.
The Mooseheads traded the 20-year-old forward and a 2011 fifth-round pick to the Titan last month for a 2011 third-round pick. The Mooseheads would have gotten the fifth-round pick back if Cheremetiev stayed with the Titan beyond Jan. 10.
Essentially, the Titan got 13 games worth of Cheremetiev -- a goal and an assist -- and the Mooseheads upgraded their 2011 fifth-rounder to a third-rounder.
Cheremetiev is scheduled to join the Mooseheads alumni party with the Maritime Junior A Hockey League's Truro Bearcats. They also feature forward Eric Louis-Seize (26 points in 21 games) and defenceman and captain Ben MacAskill (14 points in 22 games).

Maybe now is the time for Cam to consider going up stairs full time and bring in a new coaching staff for next year. It obviously hasn't worked for the last three years, so maybe a change is required.
