HALIFAX, N.S. - RCMP in Nova Scotia are investigating an oil spill in the Sackville River.
Police say they were notified of the spill at 9 a.m. today.
The oil spill was traced back to a billiards business nearby, where police say it appears a line was deliberately cut on an outside oil tank.
Several hundred litres of furnace oil spilled out of the tank sometime between 1 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
Halifax fire services have contained the spill in the river and officials with the federal and provincial departments of environment were on the scene.
