As the largest multi-family homebuilding market in North America, and perhaps the world, you would expect that our local builders would fare well at the provincial Awards of Distinction set for late September.

As it turns out, based on the finalists list recently issued by the Ontario Home Builders’ Association, they will be largely competing with themselves, making bragging rights even more meaningful.

All the name brand high-rise builders like Aspen Ridge, FRAM, Empire, Liberty, Lifetime, Menkes, Minto, Monarch, Preston, Queenscorp, Sorbara and Tridel can be found on the finalists list vying for awards for everything from sales and marketing to building and suite design, to the prestigious High-Rise Project of the Year award.

Tridel is the largest high-rise builder in the GTA and appropriately leads the way with seven nominations for OHBA Awards, including High-Rise Project of the Year for Reve, up against Liberty Developments for World on Yonge and FRAM for Reflections Residences at Don Mills.

The amazing thing about all the great projects mentioned above and the other finalists listed at ohba.ca is that they represent the tip of the iceberg in terms of what’s currently available, let alone yet to come on the GTA condo scene. The ultimate winners in this competition are the home buyers themselves.
