Thirty-six cyclists arrived in Halifax yesterday after finishing a 12-day 7,000 kilometre ride from Vancouver as part of the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride.

The purpose of the cross-country ride is to raise funds and awareness for children’s hospitals such as the IWK and aid cancer research.

Last year the annual ride raised $1.1 million to fund research programs, the largest single donation ever given to Canada’s group of pediatric cancer initiatives known as C17.
