Like many others, Glen Aucoin just couldn’t seem to shave off the pounds.

“I’ve tried many, many different types of diets,” he said on Wednesday.

“I’d take it off but when I stopped, I’d put it all back on.”

More than one year ago, Aucoin, 40, joined the TOPS organization in the hopes of taking off the weight — for good.

One hundred and four pounds later, he’s being crowned “king” of the Nova Scotia chapter of TOPS.

“Little by little I lost my weight,” said Aucoin, who received the honour by losing the most weight in the province.

“I didn’t have any problems with my health, but you just feel so much better.”
