Let’s hope you got your fill of flame throwers and acrobatics.

This year’s International Busker Festival, which ended yesterday, might have been the last.

The 11-day festival is strapped for cash and all requests to the province for funding have been declined, said Kim Hendrickson, president of ESP Production and producer of the festival.

“We get recognition from (the province), but that doesn’t translate to us as revenue,” she said.

“If there is a festival next year, it will be against all odds.”

Lorna Nickerson said the festival brings a lot of people into the  city, including herself.

“It would definitely be justified for government funding,” said the Shelburne County native while taking in the festival yesterday.

“It brings people into downtown Halifax and onto the waterfront that we paid a fortune to repair.”
