Forget standing by the office air conditioner, a better place to enjoy this hot and humid weather is at the beach. And there’s good news, as HRM and the province have both re-started lifeguard service at several popular water spots.

It was announced yesterday supervision would resume at Rainbow Haven Beach, Melmerby Beach in Pictou County and Mira Gut in Cape Breton Regional Municipality through Thursday. The hours of supervision each day will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

HRM announced on Monday that lifeguards would be back at work through today at Birch Cove Beach and Shubie Beach in Dartmouth.
