Dolly Parton got cut from Miley Cyrus’s movie upcoming Hannah Montana movie, usmagazine.com is reporting. “I’m not in the movie,” Parton told the Associated Press. “I wish I had been.”

Parton, 63, said producers asked her if she would reprise her recurring TV role as Aunt Dolly on the big screen.

“I said I would love to,” she said. “I assumed that they were gonna be writing me a part.”
But her character wasn’t in the movie’s final script, she says.

Parton is disappointed, but says kids always come up to her and say, “Hi, Aunt Dolly!”

The country singer says her decision to appear on the Disney show was “probably the best move” she ever made because it introduced her to a new generation.

The Hannah Montana movie hits theaters April 10.
