Unlike her late brother, Janet Jackson’s life hasn't been as scrutinized, notes popeater.com. Throughout her career, she’s maintained an aura of mystery, successfully keeping much of her private life private, adds the website, which looks at some of the rumours that have followed the singer.

Among them is a rumour that Jackson has an 18-year-old daughter named Renee whom she supposedly had with her old flame, James DeBarge — they married, but it was annulled a year later.

Tongues were wagging in July about her supposed break up with current man Jermaine Dupri because he didn't go to Michael Jackson’s memorial. But these were recently deflated in People, which says they are planning to wed.

It wouldn’t be the first time Jackson kept a marriage secret. She was married to Renee Elizondo: A long held secret that was divulged in 2000 after nearly 10 years when she filed for divorce.
