Clocking in at 1,074 pages, Under the Dome, the latest release by science fiction and horror master Stephen King, is a behemoth of a book. One autumn day in the small town of Chester’s Mill, Maine a segment of the residents are trapped together, under a giant force field that isolates them from the rest of the community. Survival isn’t the only intra-dome challenge, as divisions between inhabitants quickly arise. One faction, headed up by an Iraq War veteran, aims to understand the dome and maintain order, but self-righteous politician Big Jim Rennie wants power, and doesn’t mind a little blood on his hands to get it.
