The list of casualties of the Halifax Rainmen's current slump grew late Tuesday with the release of Rodney Mayes.

The 6-foot-6 guard was averaging just 11.6 minutes per game, second-lowest on the team, along with 4.5 points and 1.9 rebounds.

Rainmen owner Andre Levingston fired head coach Rick Lewis earlier Tuesday and vowed to make changes to snap his team out of a rut of five losses in eight games.

The Rainmen are 6-5, third in the Premier Basketball League's Atlantic Conference.
