The Halifax Rainmen will look to get back in the win column against the revamped Montreal Sasquatch.

The Rainmen, who have lost back-to-back games and four of their last six, visit the Sasquatch on Friday at 8:30 p.m. With five games left in the Premier Basketball League season, the Rainmen (8-7) are chasing a wildcard playoff spot.

The Rainmen trail Wilmington (9-4), Vermont (8-6) and Augusta (7-5) for a spot in the wildcard play-in game.

Montreal was kicked out of the PBL earlier this month because of payroll issues but was reinstated after new ownership took over. Several players, including top scorers Randy Gill, John Ruffus and Jamaal Wise, ended up signing elsewhere.

Montreal has a 3-8 record but has been blown out in two outings since being readmitted to the PBL.

Reggie George, a six-foot-10 centre, will make his debut with the Rainmen after signing on Monday.

In other news, the Mid-Michigan Destroyers have suspended operations, reducing the PBL to a 12-team circuit. The Destroyers, who had a 2-11 record, are not on Halifax’s schedule.
