Eric Crookshank may have a job waiting in the Halifax Rainmen’s front office when his playing days are over.
“We want Eric Crookshank to retire here,” said owner Andre Levingston. “I’m trying to get Eric to focus on business and his career after basketball. He’s working hard for it.”
Crookshank, a member of the Rainmen since opening day, averaged 11.8 points and 9.0 rebounds this season. He averaged 20.5 points and 12.2 rebounds in 2007-08.
The 30-year-old Californian was suspended for the season in January for “conduct detrimental to the team,” but was reinstated in February a day after head coach Rick Lewis was fired.
Those events are all but forgotten. Levingston says “there is always a job” for Crookshank with the Rainmen.
“He loves Halifax and Halifax loves him,” Levingston said.
