The Halifax Mooseheads get back to work this week with a losing streak that has stretched to 11 games.
The Mooseheads lost 4-1 to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Sydney on Friday to fall nine points into last place in the QMJHL standings with just one victory in 19 tries.
Their losing streak is the worst all season in the QMJHL.
The good news is a five-game home stand is around the corner. After the Mooseheads visit the Saint John Sea Dogs on Wednesday, they kick off their lengthy stay at the Metro Centre on Friday against the Val-d’Or Foreur. They also host the Prince Edward Island Rocket on Saturday.
The Mooseheads played Friday without three key players, 17-year-old defenceman Konrad Abeltshauser and forwards Charles Bety and Gabriel Desjardins. Abeltshauser is being eased into the lineup after breaking his wrist, while Bety (elbow) and Desjardins (flu) remain on the injured list as day-to-day
