It wasn’t just goalie Mathieu Corbeil getting it done for the Halifax Mooseheads on the weekend. The club’s struggling supporting cast finally started burying the biscuit.

The top line of Tomas Knotek, Gerrad Grant and Travis Randell — providers of more than 50 per cent of the offence entering the weekend — contributed just two of the 10 goals scored in much-needed wins over Val-d’Or and P.E.I.

Brent Andrews, Matt Stoddard, Pascal Amyot and Sawyer Hannay broke season-long goose-eggs. Gabriel Desjardins scored twice and Charles Bety and Linden Bahm had singles. The whole crew had just six goals combined coming in.

“After a hard start to the season, it’s good to come back and help out the team,” Desjardins said. “They (Knotek, Grant and Randell) were by themselves for a lot of games and now we’re scoring and it will make the team a lot better.”
