The Halifax Rainmen have lost their foothold in the race for first overall in the Premier Basketball League.

The Rainmen have dropped back-to-back games after a 100-97 road setback in overtime to the last-place Quebec Kebs Friday. They are now fourth with a 9-4 record, two-and-a-half games behind the first-place Puerto Rico Capitanes.

Desmond Ferguson had a team-high 22 points but the Rainmen blew a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter and lost in overtime on a three-pointer with 1.9 seconds left.

The Rainmen stay on the road this coming weekend, visiting the third-place Rochester RazorSharks (10-3) Saturday.
