Halifax Mooseheads forward Logan MacMillan has joined the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates on an amateur tryout contract. He will be available to the Anaheim Ducks' top minor-league affiliate for the AHL semifinals against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins.
MacMillan, a forward who had 41 points in 46 games last season, is expected to play in Halifax next season.
