This November, the New York Institute of Technology’s (NYIT) Vancouver campus student showcase is being paired with its open house for an event that will allow prospective students and the business community to learn about the institution.
“In the past, Experience NYIT was our student showcase, during which students presented their projects to business leaders, while our open house was for prospective students to learn about our offerings,” explains Maaza Ali, NYIT’s marketing coordinator. “This event, called Experience NYIT: Open House, will combine both.”
While business leaders will have the opportunity to engage with students about their work and its potential contribution to their field of study, says Ali, prospective students will be able to interact with faculty and current students to learn more about their program of interest.
“The overarching theme of the projects is technology, which is what our school is known for and it will allow for engaging dialogue,” says Ali. “We’ll also be conducting campus tours, and non-academic departments, such as admissions, will be on hand.”
Experience NYIT: Open House will take place Nov. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to register by visiting nyit.edu/vancouver.
