All Calgary Transit ticket machines now accept debit and credit

City officials say all 152 of the ticket vending machines at Calgary Transit train stations now accept credit and debit cards, rather than just cash.

The city initially installed one machine per CTrain station over a year ago, but have since equipped all the machines to accept multiple forms of payment, including VISA, MasterCard, American Express and INTERAC.

All the ticket vending machine are also now able to provide change in the case of a cash transaction.

“The feedback from our customers since the initial installation has been phenomenal,” said Calgary Transit Director Doug Morgan in a release.

“Customers have been telling us they really find it convenient to pay their fares using credit and debit card payments and would like to see it extended to all of our ticket vending machines.”
