The Alberta NDP don't mind a rebel uprising that's been brewing in a galaxy far, far away.

The No NDP Alberta group is using the likes of Star Wars to drum-up anti-NDP sentiment, asking locals — or “stormtroopers” — to sign a petition to “bring peace back to the Galaxy — and to Alberta!,” according to the group’s website.

“I don’t mind this, as long as I get to be Luke Skywalker,” said Deron Bilous, Minister of Economic Development.

On its website, the group said its "stormtroopers will canvass (Calgary) for signatures for our petitions and plebiscites to help remove the NDP, whose reign is far more evil than the Sith themselves.”

It continues: “Due to the extreme evil of the NDP, the Jedi and members of the Rebel Alliance are welcome to join us as well in the petition and plebiscite drive against the NDP, our common enemy.”

If you wish to sign the petition and learn more about the group's protest times, you can email adfundit1@gmail.com, who claims to be “Lord Darth Vader.”

“The (group) will be publicly gathering signatures and having a merry time on Calgary streets soon,” the website reads. “Stormtrooper helmets, Rebel Alliance uniforms, Jedi robes, and Sith costumes are all greatly encouraged!”
