P.E.I. man killed after losing control of car and crossing into oncoming traffic

CORNWALL, P.E.I. — Police in P.E.I. say a 33-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his car and veered into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle.

They say the accident occurred at about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday on Bannockburn Road in Clyde River.

Officers say a south-bound car crossed the centre line and collided with a vehicle going the opposite direction, causing extensive damage to both cars.

A man driving one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, while two women in the other car were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are investigating, but say slippery road conditions may have been a factor in the accident.
