Head injuries killed Ellie May Meyer heard the trial for a man accused of her murder and another 13-year-old girl's in 2005.
Alberta assistant chief medical examiner Dr. Bernard Bannach told the first-degree trial for Michael Briscoe on Wednesday that Meyer's skull was severely fractured. Briscoe is being tried in one trial for Meyer and Nina Courtepatte's deaths.
Court also heard testimony from a woman already serving time for Courtepatte's slaying, who said she saw Briscoe and Joseph Laboucan chase down Meyer in a field. Laboucan was convicted in both murders.
