Edmonton police officer charged with obstruction of justice

An Edmonton police officer has been charged after a producing a cancelled insurance card during a traffic stop.
Edmonton police say an off-duty police officer, who was with the force for three years, went through a traffic stop being conducted by EPS when he allegedly produced a cancelled insurance card.
An investigation was conducted and after consulting with the Crown, Chief of Police Rod Knecht made the decision to charge the officer and suspend him without pay.
Const. Adam Kube has been charged with obstruction of justice. His first court appearance is scheduled for July 30, 2012.
