An Edmonton agency is trying to raise blanket donations for people living on the margins.
As winter quickly approaches, an Edmonton organization that works with people on the margins is asking residents to offer up a gift of warmth.
Edmonton Emergency Relief Services Society is aiming to provide blankets and other supports to more than 8,000 families this year and is now collecting blankets, until Nov. 9, as part of its annual Blanket Alberta in Warmth campaign.
The Society collects blankets and shares them with other organizations with clients who need them, including the Boyle McCauley street van and several Salvation Army warm-up shelters.
Those wanting to drop off a blanket can contact eerss@shaw.ca or visit the Society's downtown location at 10255 - 104 Street.
