Perhaps it should be re-named the High Speed Bridge?

Edmonton police say they clocked a motorcyclist traveling along Edmonton's narrow High Level Bridge at 129 km/hr Tuesday night.

The motorcyclists was one of 16 the police caught speeding and issued traffic violations.

They said five of the 16 were clocked traveling at more than double the bridge's speed limit of 50 km/hr.

“It’s very troubling to know that there are drivers out there who think this is an acceptable way to commute on our city streets,” said Sgt. Kerry Bates, in a news release.

“It’s quite astonishing, actually.”
