A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the north-end Thursday morning has died, police say.

Police said a black Nissan Rouge was traveling northbound on 95 Street when it allegedly struck a 28-year-old man, who was not in a marked crosswalk, near 113 Avenue.

EMS treated the pedestrian and transported him to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries Friday, police said.

The 45-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured during the incident, police said, and is being cooperative with officers. Alcohol and speed are not being considered factors in the collision.

It was Edmonton's 22nd traffic fatality of the year.
