A fund has been set up for the family of a man killed on a city construction site earlier this month.

The union representing the city employee killed on the job on Nov 1. has started a trust fund for the man’s wife and daughters.

CUPE Local 30 has put $5,000 in the fund and is now asking others to contribute.

“Our union is a family, when one of us falls, it hurts us all deeply,” president Mike Scott said in a release.

“We can never bring our brother back, but if we can help his family with a few bills, it’s the least we can do.”

The 44-year-old man was killed while working underground on a sewer line construction project.

The fund has been set up at River City Credit Union.
