Man beaten in Dartmouth swarming, punched, kicked after encountering large group

A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being beaten in Dartmouth on Tuesday night.

Police say the incident took place at Park Avenue around 6:45 p.m. The victim, police say, encountered a group of eight to nine people, made up of both males and females. Police say from that large group two people then began to kick and punch the victim, and took his cell phone and wallet.

The suspects then rejoined the group and everyone walked away.

Police say the two suspects who beat the victim were known to him.

There have been no arrests and police continue to investigate.
