Dartmouth pair charged after police seize drugs and crossbow from home

Halifax police have laid drugs and weapons charges against a woman and man after searching a Dartmouth home Thursday night.

Around 10:00 p.m. officers entered an apartment in the 0-100 block of Churchill Court with a search warrant.

Police said they seized a number of narcotics including prescription pills, as well as guns and a crossbow from the residence.

The accused were arrested on the scene without incident.

Jamie Joseph Laffite, 22, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court Friday to face three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and eight firearms-related offences.

The co-accused — a 21-year-old woman — is set to make her court appearance April 30. She faces the same charges.
