Halifax police bust 59-year-old man's marijuana grow operation

Police responded to a verbal dispute between neighbours in Spryfield, and ended up finding a grow op in one of their homes.

Halifax police arrested and charged a 59-year-old man with growing marijuana and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking on Wednesday.

Police were called to a verbal dispute between two neighbours on Autumn Drive in Spryfield on Wednesday. While talking to one of the men, officers noticed what looked like a marijuana grow operation in his apartment.

They came back later with a search warrant, and found some marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia.

The man was arrested, and later released, charged with cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. He’s scheduled to appear in court on March 22.
