A growing internet service company will be setting up shop in New Glasgow.

Web.com representatives announced Monday in New Glasgow council chambers that they will be opening a branch of their business in the town.

Initially, the company is targeting 100 new jobs in this centre by the end of the year, with the goal of growing to 330 employees over the next three years.

These employees will service Web.com customers. Web.com currently employs over 400 full-time positions in their Yarmouth and Halifax facilities.

“Web.com is very happy to become part of the New Glasgow community and to continue growing our presence in Nova Scotia,” said David Brown, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Web.com. “We chose New Glasgow to expand our service operations because of the area’s experienced employee base and outstanding educational system. We believe our New Glasgow centre will provide our customers with the excellent service they have come to expect from Web.com.”

Web.com designs websites and does online marketing for small and medium sized businesses around the world. It has been in business for the past 20 years with locations in more than 20 states in the United States as well as Barrie, Ont., Cardiff, Wales, the United Kingdom and Buenos Aries, Argentina.

Its two current Nova Scotia locations are in Halifax and Yarmouth. Its head office is in Jacksonville, Florida.

Web.com is hiring for 12 different types of roles, including management positions.
