Halifax police are investigating two indecent acts where someone was spotted masturbating or exposing himself while children were nearby.

At 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, Halifax RCMP responded to a complaint of a man masturbating in the woods in Wellington, while watching children at a playground on Parkside Avenue.

According to a release, the man is described as white, about 50 years old, 6’’0, clean shaven, wearing a dark long sleeved shirt or hoodie.

He was seen driving away from the area in a dark, older-model mini van.

Soon afterwards at 4:56 p.m., RCMP responded to a second complaint at a soccer field on Foster Avenue in Fall River, where a male was seen exposing himself to children playing on the field.

The suspect's description was similar to the man in Wellington, however police said he was wearing a toque at the time of the second incident.

In both incidents, the man did not try to speak to the children.

The investigation is ongoing.
