Nova Scotia man killed by car while walking on side of rural highway

RCMP say the driver wasn't injured.

Police say a pedestrian is dead after he was struck by a car while walking along the side of a rural highway in Nova Scotia.  

A 60-year-old man was hit as he walked on the right side of Highway 1 in Falmouth on Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP said in a release.

The victim, who is from Windsor, died at the scene.

The driver of the car wasn’t injured.

The highway was closed for several hours as police continue to investigate.
