Police are asking the public to help identify this man in relation to an incident of voyeurism.

Police are investigating an incident of voyeurism in Halifax and have released video footage to help them identify the suspect.

In a media release issued Friday morning, Halifax Regional Police said on Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. they received a report about a man taking video of a 14-year-old boy who was in the stall next to him in a men’s washroom.

The incident occurred at about 4:45 p.m. in the men’s washroom near the cinema at Park Lane Mall, located at 5657 Spring Garden Rd.

The boy yelled at the man who then ran out of the washroom. The boy left the washroom with his 13-year-old friend, who was also there. He reported the incident to his father, who later called police.

The suspect is described as a man with dark hair who was wearing a grey tee-shirt, dark grey pants, dark shoes and a dark ball cap. He was carrying a knapsack and what looked like a black and white Adidas cape over his shoulder.

Police have been working with the victim to obtain a detailed description of the suspect and specific details about the offence.

They have obtained video footage from the area and are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man.
