Suspect wanted in armed robbery and attempted robbery in Halifax on Thursday night.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a Thursday night robbery and an attempted robbery in Halifax.

In a media release, Halifax Regional Police said on Sept. 22 at 9 p.m., staff at the Guardian Pharmacy at 205 Herring Cove Rd. were preparing to close for the evening when a man attempted to push open the main doors to gain entry.

He left the area on foot.

Shortly afterwards, at 9:14 p.m., a man entered the Petro Canada service station at 205 Herring Cove Rd. holding a knife in his hand. He demanded cash and cigarettes then fled on foot after getting a small quantity of each product.

There were no injuries.

Police and K-9 searched the area for the suspect but couldn’t locate him. The robbery suspect is believed to be the same man involved in the Guardian Pharmacy incident. He’s described as more than six feet tall and was wearing a black sweater, black fabric over his face and sweatpants with stripes.

Police have released photos from the Petro Canada robbery and ask anyone with information about this man’s identity or these incidents to contact them at 490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers.
