Police investigating armed robbery at Halifax gas station

Suspect believed to be the same man involved in an incident at a nearby pharmacy minutes before

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Halifax on Thursday night.

In a media release, Halifax Regional Police said a man entered the Petro Canada service station, 205 Herring Cove Rd. at 9:14 p.m. holding a knife in his hand. He demanded cash and cigarettes then fled on foot after getting a small quantity of each product.

There were no injuries.

Patrol members and K-9 searched the area for the suspect. Police said there have been no arrests made at this point.

The robbery suspect is believed to be the same man involved in the Guardian Pharmacy incident.

That occurred at 9 p.m. Staff of the Guardian Pharmacy at 205 Herring Cove Rd. were getting ready to close for the evening when a man attempted to push open the main doors to gain entry. He then left the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s. He was wearing a black sweater, a black ski mask, and grey Adidas sweatpants with stripes on the lower leg and sneakers.

Police are still investigating.
