Police looking for knife-wielding man who confronted people outside their apartment building

Incident occurred at 2 a.m. Friday when residents woke up to a man ringing intercom buzzers.

Police are investigating after a man with a knife confronted two people outside their apartment building early Friday morning.

In a media release, Halifax Regional Police said at 2 a.m., two residents living in an apartment building in the 5000 block of Spring Garden Road woke up to a man ringing their intercom buzzers.

When both residents confronted the man outside the main entrance, the suspect produced a knife. He fled the area on foot towards Dresden Row. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as about 5’4” tall and was wearing a blue, long sleeve shirt, jeans and glasses. He had brown hair and was sporting a blue backpack.

The knife is described as having a six-inch blade.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
